Welcome…

to Kellah Farm, an ideal base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall Country. Whether you’re looking for a modern farmhouse Bed & Breakfast or a traditional self-catering cottage, Kellah provides comfortable accommodation in a peaceful countryside setting.

Kellah has been a small hamlet since 1402 and has been farmed by our family for over 150 years. We are a working hill farm, breeding beef cattle and Scottish Blackface sheep.

Our three self-catering holiday cottages were previously miner’s smallholdings and still have many of the original features.

The newly-converted, self-contained Bed & Breakfast unit was previously ‘The Pitman’s Arms’ public house, before its closure in the late 1800’s.

In the early 20th Century it became miner’s cottages, then eventually agricultural out-buildings as the properties changed hands. In 2006 we began converting the buildings into one unit and opened for business in 2007.
